DADPE POHE: 


Dadpe pohe is a delicious Maharashtrian snack recipe, prepared with thin variety of flattened rice. It is one of the instant snack item, we can also have it as a breakfast recipe. For preparing this recipe, we don't need any cooking except some regular tempering.

                   Dadpe pohe is a healthy and nutritional recipe with minimal ingredients, that your stomach feels so light. It is prepared with poha, which is mixed with vegetables and some regular tempering. while serving this recipe, garnish with sev and have it. So, here is the recipe... try it for yourself...

INGREDIENTS:

  • Poha 2 cups ( flattened rice)
  • 2 medium sized onion(finely chopped)
  • 2 medium sized carrot( grated)
  • 4 to 5 green chilli ( finely chopped)
  • Coriander leaves 1/4 cup 
  • 3 tsp lemon juice
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Peanuts 3 tbsp
  • 3 Red chillies
  • Curry leaves-2 sprigs
  • Oil for tempering (2 tbsp)

PREPARATION:

  1. Take a wide bowl, add finely chopped onions, green chillis, coriander leaves and grated carrot into it. 
  2. Then add 3 tsps of lemon juice, salt to the veg mixture and mix well. ( squeeze the onions properly and mix well) 
  3. Now add 2 cups of poha into the mixture and mix well. While mixing poha add some water (1 to 2 tbsp) to it if required and keep aside for 30 minutes. 
  4. For tempering, heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan and mustard seeds and cumin seeds.Once they pop, add peanuts and fry them on a low flame.
  5. when peanuts turn to golden brown, add red chillis, curry leaves and fry them.
  6. After that add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder and stir. switch of the flame.
  7. Now add this tadka to the poha mixture and mix well.
  8. And our Dadpe Pohe is ready to serve. Garnish with sev and serve.

TIPS:

  • If you want add some freshly grated coconut, which enhances the taste of the recipe.
  • Add water while mixing poha to the veg mixture only if required.
  • Serve as a snack or a breakfast with masala tea.
