Oats chilla is an instant and healthy breakfast or snack, tastes delicious with tomato sauce or tomato chutney. It is a North Indian breakfast recipe (in south Indian cuisine we used to call dosa or uttapam where as in North Indian cuisine they call it as cheela). It tastes great with minimal ingredients like oats and veggies of our choice. It is a low calorie recipe as oats are rich in fibre. If you want you can add chick pea flour in to the batter.

Preparation:
- Firstly, wash tomatoes, onions, capsicum, green chillies, curry leaves, coriander leaves and chop them to small pieces and keep aside.
- Then wash the carrots and grate them and keep aside.
- Now, take a wide bowl and add 1 cup oats ( prefer plain oats).
- Add finely chopped veggies and grated carrots into it.
- Also add gingergarlic paste, cumin seeds( jeera), turmeric powder, Red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt to taste.
- And add 3 to 4 tsp of curd and mix well.
- Now pour water as required to make the mixture into semi dosa batter( batter should not be too thick or too thin). It should be thicker than regular dosa batter.
- Mix all the ingredients together and keep it aside for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Heat dosa pan/ tawa, add 2 to 3 drops of oil, take a laddle some of batter and spread it slowly on tawa.
- Cook it on a medium flame for 2 to 3 mins with a closed lid and flip carefully without breaking it and again spread some oil around the chilla and roast it for another 2 to 3 mins till it becomes golden brown in colour and switch off the flame.
- That's it, the tasty oats chilla is ready to serve with tomato chutney or peanut chutney.
- And it tastes great with tomato sauce.
- If you want you can make oats to a fine powder and then use it for making batter( which makes easier while spreading batter on the tawa).
- As the oats batter is very smooth, spread the batter a little bit thick on the tawa, which makes us easy to flip them.
Thank you so much for this amazing recipe.
