STUFFED TINDORA FRY: ( stuffed Dondakaya Fry)
Tindora is an everyday south Indian dish for rice or chapathi. Most of us didn't like to eat it. I am not a big fan of tindora but trust me it is delicious when we cooked in a right way.
If you are not a lover of dondakaya , trust me when you taste this recipe, you will surely change your mind. Taste of this recipe is mainly depends on the stuffed mixture. It tastes yummy and delicious with pappucharu or sambar and a perfect side dish. Here is the preparation of stuffed Dondakaya Fry, give it a try.

Ingredients:
To roast and powder:- Chana dal-2tsp
- Coriander seeds(dhaniya)-2tsp
- Dried coconut powder- 2 tsp
- Red chillies-10 to 15
- Cumin seeds-1 tsp
- Sesame seeds- 2 to 3 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Dondakaya-250 gm
- Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves
Preparation:
- Heat a pan and add 2 tsp of chana dal, 2 tsp of coriander seeds(daniya), 2 tsp of dried coconut powder-, 10 to 15 red chillies, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 2 to 3 tsp seseme seeds and roast them on a low flame.
- Let it cool and add salt to taste and blend it to a fine powder or coarse powder and keep it a side.
- Then take 250 gm of tindora, wash and cut the tips of it and make a long cross slit on each tindora length wise.
- Take the tindora and stuff the mixture.
- Now , heat 2 to 3 tsps of oil in a pan and add 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp turmeric powder, curry leaves and saute for a minute.
- Then add stuffed tindora and cook for 4 to 5 mins with closed lid on a low flame only.
- Cook them on a low flame for about 20-25 mins, till tindora turns almost soft.
- Mix them carefully for every 5 mins.
- Once cooked, turn off the flame and serve with a combination of rice and pappucharu or sambar or simply serve with rottis.
Tips:
- Roast the ingredients of the stuffed powder in a low flame.
- Cook the stuffed tindora in low to medium flame only .
