Pepper chicken is an easy, tasty and perfect side dish for rice or chapati. It is from the south Indian cuisine and is unique for it's aromatic flavor and perfect for monsoons. The key ingredient of this dish is pepper.

Ingredients:
- Chicken - 1/2 kg
- Onions - 2 ( medium) chopped
- Green chillies - 4 to 5 ( chopped)
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- Curd - 2 tbsp
- Garam masala - 1 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1 tsp
- Curry leaves- 3 sprigs
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander (chopped) - 1 tbsp
- Mint leaves - 1 tsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a heavy bottomed pan and add chopped onions and green chillies fry them till they turn golden and add 2 sprigs of curry leaves and saute well.
- Then add ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute, till raw smell of it goes off.
- Now add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and mix well.
- Then add chicken into it, mix well and close the lid and cook for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, add 1 1/2 tsp salt , 1 tsp garam masala, mint leaves and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add 2 tbsp of curd into it, mix well and cook for 10 minutes by closing the lid , till water gets evaporated.
- Now, add 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp pepper powder and cook for 5 more minutes with closed lid.
- Lastly add Coriander leaves and remaining curry leaves and give it a saute and turn off the flame.
- Serve hot with rice, chapati or phulkas.
- While serving add some lemon juice, this makes the dish more flavorful.
