SOOJI PAKODE:
Sooji pakode  also called rava pakode is an easy, quick and instant snack prepared with sooji rava(semolina), veggies and some spices.

                 Here is the preparation please give it a try for yourself... 

Ingredients:
  • Sooji rava (semolina) - 1 cup
  • Rice flour - 2 tbsp
  • Curd - 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Ginger - 1 inch (finely chopped)
  • Green chillies - 3 to 4 (chopped)
  • Onion - 1 medium sized ( chopped)
  • Capsicum - 1 medium sized (chopped)
  • Carrot - 1 medium sized ( grated)
  • Curry leaves - 3 sprigs ( chopped)
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tbsp
  • Tumeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil for frying
  • Water as required
Preparation:
  1. Take a wide bowl and add sooji rava , rice flour, chopped Ginger, Capsicum, Curry leaves, Green chillies, Onion, Coriander, Grated Carrot, Cumin seeds, Turmeric powder, Red chilli powder, Salt, Curd  and mix them throughout.
  2. Now add water into it and make them to a thick batter without any lumps.
  3. Further add 1/2 tsp baking soda and mix well and rest it for 10 to 15 minutes so that sooji absorbs the water.
  4. Now, heat oil for deep frying and drop a spoonful of batter into the hot oil and fry them on medium flame untill pakoda turns golden brown.
  5. Remove from the oil and place them on a kitchen paper towels to remove excess oil.
  6. Serve hot with tomato sauce or any chutney and with onion and lemon.
 Tips:
  • Rest the batter for 10 to 15 minutes so that the Sooji rava will absorbs the water well and that will make our batter perfect for pakode.
  • Add veggies of your choice which will increase the taste of recipe.
  • And don't miss chopped Ginger, because it will add extra flavour to the pakode.
